If you can. The government cannot save them, maybe ease the pain a little but government is not the solution.

We are the solution, we need to spend money. Order take out or delivery if you must, you can practice social distancing, but you have to spend money. And I'm not talking about Amazon

Obviously certain demographics and certain locations need to be more careful than others, but all should do what we can.

I told my wife we're going to order take out 7 nights a week. Fuck, grocery stores are out if stock anyhow. I'll do as much commerce as I can. We all should.

And I'm not really concerned about myself. I'm actually recession proof. But I live my life vicariously through scores of businesses, hundreds of families and thousands of people. I don't like to see anyone suffering or lives ruined, we all prosper together or not.

These are not ordinary times. Here in Vegas they made the decision to shut down schools until April 13th. Wynn and MGM casino resorts are closing up which I assume more will follow. Economy here is being stricken hard. Some casinos are shutting every other playing machine off to create social distancing. The domino effect is being felt and we’re just starting. Businesses are laying off and some making contingency plans of letting some work from home if they can. Grocery store shelves are being emptied but are still being restocked so the supply chain isn’t being disrupted at least.

Three or more weeks of this is could create a recipe for pockets of unrest. People who can’t afford rent or pay utilities let alone food could be at most vulnerable. Something will have to be worked out with landlords since we’re all in the same boat on this. Some utility companies have already informed they will not cut off service despite non payments and will not charge late fees which helps.

Despite financial relief efforts I still can see domestic violence rise. When all the binge watching is over boredom sets in. The cabin fever effect could take its toll. I believe though as a whole we’re more resilient to complete collapse and this will pass. The only other event I could think of that comes close to this may be the Great Depression and that lasted nearly a decade. We will survive, sorry liberals.

I agree! I'm going to bite the bullet and take out more often. My home cooking is 90% of the times better than take out, but fuck it. Try to keep things rolling!
